About Us at  Baker Drive Baptist

Baker Drive Baptist Church is an independent missionary Baptist Church.

We believe the Bible is the only guide in faith and practice and that it is infallible.

We believe in the Genesis account of creation.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin.

We believe that all men by nature are sinful.

We believe that there is a literal hell for punishment of those who reject Christ.

We believe that the Lord Jesus died for the sins of all who trust in Him.

That He has risen from the grave to assure us of life eternal.

Further, that He will return to gather His own unto Him.

That in Him there is eternal security.

Our Church extends a warm invitation to you.

Come worship with us when you may be in our area.

We are a church that is very alive and exciting.

As a missionary church, although independent of The American Baptist Association,

we support many missions. Some through the office of

Secretary of Missions of the American Baptist Association and some by direct contact.

If I can personally be helpful to you please do not hesitate to call or e-mail.

May God richly bless you in all things.

Dr. Joe Bozarth

GOD'S Simple Plan To Salvation

1.You must first believe in GOD. Psalms 14:1 "The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God."

2. You must believe you're not perfect because you are a sinner. Romans 3:23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;"

3. You must understand that your sins have separated you from GOD. Romans 6:23 " For the wages of sin is death..." This has reference to being separated from GOD because of sin.

4. You must believe that the death of JESUS CHRIST paid your entire sin debt. 2 Cor. 5:21" For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin..."

5. You must ask GOD to forgive you and accept JESUS CHRIST as your savior. Romans 10:13"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."

If you can take the first four steps then you can take the fifth step and pray a prayer similar to this:

"God, I know that I'm not perfect and I understand that my sins have separated me from you. I now believe that Jesus Christ paid my entire sin debt. Please forgive my sin and give me the free gift of salvation and eternal life through Jesus Christ."

After salvation, you need to begin to grow as a child of GOD. The best place to begin your spiritual growth is in a church that teaches the true Word of GOD. You are encouraged to contact our church for further information.

Church Covenant

Having been led, as we believe by the Spirit of God, to receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour and, on the profession of our faith, having been baptized in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we do now, in the presence of God, and this assembly, most solemnly and joyfully enter into a covenant with one another as one body in Christ.

We engage, therefore, by the aid of the Holy Spirit to walk together in Christian love; to strive for the advancement of this church, in knowledge, holiness, and comfort: to promote its prosperity and spirituality; to sustain its worship, ordinances, discipline, and doctrines; to contribute cheerfully and regularly to the support of the ministry, the expenses of the church, the relief of the poor, and the spread of the gospel through all nations.

We also engage to maintain the family and secret devotions; to religiously educate our children; to seek the salvation of our kindred and acquaintances; to walk circumspectly in the world; to be just in our dealings, faithful in our engagements, and exemplary in our deportment; to avoid all tattling, backbiting, and excessive anger; to abstain form the sale of, and use of intoxicating drinks as a beverage; to be zealous in our efforts to advance the kingdom of our Saviour.

We further engage to watch over one another in brotherly love; to remember one another in prayer; to aid one another in sickness and distress; to cultivate Christian sympathy in feeling and Christian courtesy in speech; to be slow to take offense, but always ready for reconciliation and mindful of the rules of our Saviour to secure it without delay.

We moreover engage that when we remove from this place we will, as soon as possible, unite with some other church where we can carry out the spirit of the covenant and the principles of God's Word.

He died on the cross for your sins!

Jesus loves you!

Baker Drive Baptist Church

Dickinson, Texas

Baker Drive Baptist Church, formerly known as Dickinson Missionary Baptist Church, was organized on April 11, 1963 with thirteen charter members. The Texas City Missionary Baptist Church sponsored this work and the group first met in the Dickinson Elementary School with Bro. W.E. Bradford as their pastor.

The church moved into its present location and building on July of 1963. Since that time she has added additional education space, bricked the entire church building and built a parsonage adjacent to the church.

In October 1964 the church became a church fellowshipping within the South Texas Association. On November 10, 1964 the church became part of the Missionary Baptist Association of Texas and in June 1965 a member of the American Baptist Association.

Previous pastors include: W.E. Bradford, Anderson Morris, Larry Neeley, Glyn Gary, Raymond J. Lewis, Carroll Jones, John Williams, Leslie Wells, Gary Griffith and Carl Strickland. Bro. Joe Bozarth is the current pastor.

On February 1, 1978, in regular business meeting the church changed her name from Dickinson Missionary Baptist Church to Baker Drive Baptist Church.

HE can forgive your sins! Give your heart to Jesus!

"And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise"

Luke 23:43-44
